TASTING NOTES

This Grenache dominated blend is the ideal Southern French red, as it is balanced and juicy, with meaty notes on the nose and loads of black fruits on the palate. No oak aging keeps the wine light on the palate and very drinkable with or without food.

Raimond de Villeneuve grows organic wines at the appellation’s edge in Côtes de Provence near Bandol. These 29ha of vines at a steep 390m elevation grow on limestone and clay soils giving these wines a distinct sense of terroir. De Villeneuve wants to fight “terrorisme de la masse” which is why he grows his wines biodynamically, doing what he can to both help the planet and elevate the flavour of the wines.

The wines of Chateau de Roquefort are joyful and energetic wines, mediating between the salty Mediterranean seabreeze sophistication and hedonistic chuggability. Equal parts finesse and fun.

These wines have long been championed by Fergus Henderson of London, UK's St. John restaurant.
