Diego Conterno - Barolo (2018)
A very pretty and elegant Barolo that is drinking well now with a decant. Aromatic and lifted, but with typical Barolo structure. Dried herbs, tobacco with a touch of mint and pine. A beautifully expressive, mid-weight Barolo.
Barolo from Monforte d'Alba with its soils of clay, tuff and calcareous marl are typically among the most structured and broad of the commune wines, but Diego and son Stefano work very traditionally to craft wines with real nuance and elegance.
