Domaine du Château de La Chaize - Brouilly lieu-dit le Chaize, Beaujolais (2019)
Spices, ripe red fruits, dried flowers with a full-fish body for Gamay and a persistent length.
Château de La Chaize is among the oldest, most historic estates in Burgundy’s Beaujolais region. Cared for by the same family for nearly three and a half centuries, the estate has been passed on to new owners, the Gruy family, who are equally committed to managing the estate with the utmost care, while implementing an ambitious environmental plan.
This small, steep slope with porphyritic granite situated behind the Château was planted with a protective stone wall in 1676.
Vinified with natural yeasts, 10% whole clusters, 90% destemmed along with pump overs without punch down for 14 days.
70% of the wine is aged in stainless steel, 30% in foudres for 12 months.
