Domaine Duplessis - Vaillons, Premier Cru Chablis, France (2019)

TASTING NOTES

A slightly riper and fuller expression of Chablis than the others in Duplessis' range owing to the southern-facing vineyard sites. Ripe, plush fruit, star anise, all spice and ginger with an intense minerality. A fantastic, fuller-throttled expression of Chablis that doesn't ditch any of its foundational elements of acidity, verve and chalkiness. 

The fifth generation of Duplessis winemakers, Lilian, leads the wine estate. Concerned about the good health of the soil and climatic issues, he now only works in organic production on 10 ha. The vines are divided into about twenty plots of up to 75 years.

Vinifications are carried out in stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts and age for between 12-15 months before being racked and put in barrels for 6 months.

This 1er Cru cuvee from Domaine Gerard Duplessis is composed from four separate parcels: Minot, Epinottes, Sechet, and Chatain.
