Though these reds may get overshadowed by their white counterparts, Ramonet is a name not easily overlooked. This Village example deserves your attention. This wine always displaying pristine cherry and raspberry fruit, minerality, spice, and extraordinary texture. This wine always over-perform on length and lift, and while delicious now, will continue to evolve in bottle for several years to come as Ramonet wines always do.
In the appellation of Chassagne-Montrachet, the grapes for this cuvée come from a 4.65 acre vineyard on Jurassic limestone. The vines were planted in 1972, and the wine undergoes a 12-month oak aging process, with 10–15% new oak.
One of the most renowned estates in prestigious Chassagne-Montrachet. Ramonet's white wines are legendary, but most Burgundy insiders rate the appellation's reds (including Ramonet's) as being the real stars and truest expressions of the terroir.
Using a mixture of traditional vinicultural techniques, the wines exhibit elegance and fruit purity. An accessible entry-point into one of the master winemakers of Burgundy!
