This is from old vine Bical, Cercial and Sercialinho, grown in a mix of sandy and chalky soils. Fermented and matured in stainless steel.
The Pato family has been producing wine at Quinta do Ribeirinho since, at least, the eighteen century. João Pato started to bottle the wine from his vineyards in 1970, becoming the first to do so in Bairrada region once it received appellation status.
His son, Luis Pato continued to push the boundaries to raise the quality, awareness and viability of winemaking in Bairrada. Now, daughter Filipa is continuing the family tradition with equally vibrant wines on her own - and in partnership with Luis on certain wines.
