Maison Ventenac - Marie, Pays D'Oc, France (2020)
75% Colombard, 25% Chenin Blanc. Lovely balanced wine, moderate acidity and body. Fermented in 3000 litre stainless steel tanks, this is fresh, textured with ripe peach notes and some melon cut with fresh acidity and some salinity.
One of the best value wineries coming out of France right now. Located in Cabardès, an appellation in the Languedoc affected almost equally by both Mediterranean and Atlantic weather systems, the wines of Maison Ventenac always display a lovely tension between fairly well defined, but broad fruit and acidity.
