Trail Estate - Cumulus Riesling, Prince Edward County (2021)
Dry, with an impression of rocky slate minerality and tonnes of texture on the palate. Baking spices, Meyer lemon zest, white peaches and really bright zippy acidity.
Fruit comes from the Grimbsy Hillside Vineyard at the western edge of the Niagara region, but winemaker Mackenzie Brisebois coaxes a quintessential county-savoury-edge to the wine.
handpicked fruit, destemmed, fermented naturally in stainless steel. Punchdown twice daily until pressing after 11 days. Aged in used barrels for 8.5 months, unfixed and unfiltered. Bottled with 65ppm sulphites.
