Starting with Tempranillo and Albillo grapes from 30+ year old vineyards, harvested by hand and after gentle destemming. The fresh harvest is vatted in stainless steel tanks, where the must macerates with the skins for 12 hours.
Traslanzas was created in 1998, with an aim to make quality red wine in a little know region of Castilla y León, called DO Cigales. This region is famous for a unique rosé called clarete, which is made by co-fermenting red Tempranillo and white Albillo Mayor.
Traslanzas wines are made by two women, Ana Martín and Maria Pinacho using grapes from Maria’s family vineyards in Mucientes, close to the region’s capital city Valladolid.
