Valdonica - 'Mersino', Vermentino, Toscana Bianco, IGT, Italy (2020)

TASTING NOTES

Salt, orange blossom and lemon zest, rounded out with some white flowers, somewhat fleshy apples and smoke. A really elegant and refreshing Vermentino. 

At 500m, Valdonica's vineyards are amongst the highest in Maremma along with their proximity to the sea providing an almost maritime climate. This reduces the risk of  disease and allows a long growing season.

The soils are ancient volcanic from the Sassoforte volcano, active up to 20 million years ago.
