TASTING NOTES

Tangy, bright and super drinkable, this has loads of red plums, raspberries, blueberries, a bit of tomato leaf and rustic tannins. 

Ampeleia is located in the heart of the Upper Maremma region of Tuscany near the small village of Roccatederighi. Here 120ha of land (35ha planted to vine) is cared for by Marco Tait and his team. 

The intention for Amepeleia has always been to work with the terroir and the microclimates of the Upper Maremma region, rather than to attempt to make wines that stylistically match those of other, more famous regions in Tuscany.

Ampeleia covers over 100ha, 35ha of which are vineyards divided into four main units differentiated by their altitudes and microclimates – from 250 to 550m ASL, passing from Mediterranean and maritime climates to the more continental and cooler climate of the Upper Maremma.
