TASTING NOTES

Quite reductive when first poured, this is a beautiful wine full of "minerality", herbaceous greens, sesame seeds with nice acidity as well as flavours of apple and pear. There’s a saline twist on the finish. A really expressive wine that walks a tightrope between ripe, sour and salt. 

After his father escaped Salazer's dictatorship, it wasn't until Paris-born António Madeira met his partner on a trip to the Dão that he began making wines there while while still living in Paris. In 2010 he found a 50 year old vineyard and began his project, with a goal to identify the Grand Cru sites in the Dão, manage the vineyards manually without herbicides to get life into the soil, and to make the wines naturally.
