50% slightly overripe Sauvignon grapes and the remaining 50% a blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia Puntinata (typical of the Castelli Romani area). Hand harvested in the second half of August for the Sauvignon (which is vinified separately); after a month the harvest and the vinification of Trebbiano and Malvasia are carried out.
Azienda Agricola Artico was born around the end of the 90s with the acquisition of small plots of land in the area of Aprilia and Colli Lanuvini, exactly on the border between the Roman countryside and the Pontine countryside.
The old vineyards were immediately removed and cuttings of the best clones of international and native varieties were planted. Since 2012, the first winemaking experiments began with a small selection of the best grapes driven by the desire to produce wines that fully represent the peculiarities of the Lazio region. Mineral-rich soils, carefully selected vines and optimal exposure all provide ideal conditions for expressive aromatics. Moreover, Artico undertake rigorous work in the vineyard, with particular attention to pruning that is carried out following the Simonit & Sirch system.
