Another forgotten grape making a serious renaissance on the Spanish wine scene. This 100% Bobal is made from whole bunches, foot-trodden before being fermented in small wooden vats. Aged in 5th to 8th use French oak barrels (from 1,500-litre foudres to 300-litre barrels) for 7 months.
Bodega Ponce is located in the town of Iniesta, 870 meters above sea level in the Manchuela region. The difficult weather conditions mean that harvests are small, making it possible to obtain incredibly concentrated grapes with a very rich aromatic flavour.
Juan founded Bodegas y Viñedos Ponce at the tender age of 23, after working for five years with Spanish legend, Telmo Rodriguez. Juan's father owned some land in Manchuela and decided to partner with his son to help him start this exciting and unique winery.
