TASTING NOTES

Light cherry notes, raspberry, and a touch of menthol and spices come together in this elegant, medium-bodied wine, backed by fine tannins. A little youthful austerity on the back palate so enjoy with protein or allow to breathe for 30 minutes.

The De Forville family emigrated to Piedmont from Belgium in 1848 and established themselves in the village of Barbaresco in 1860. The winery is now represented by the fourth generation, Mafalda and her husband, Bruno Anfosso with a transition to the fifth generation unfolding to sons Valter and Paolo Anfosso.

The vineyards encompass just over eleven hectares in the communes of Barbaresco (4.5 hectares) and Castagnole Lanze (6.5 hectares about four kilometers east of Barbaresco in the direction of Asti).

In the cellar, all wines are fermented in stainless steel by indigenous yeast. Red wines are all destemmed and macerated on the skins for approximately 4 weeks and aged in large, neutral Slavonian oak for 6-12 months.
