This comes from a 1.8 hectare plot planted to 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Gamay with an average of 30-year old vines. After a 3-day cold soak, the bunches are de-stemmed and fermented in steel with about a 10-14 day maceration time. Once fermentation is complete this wine is racked to old-use oak and aged for 15 months.
One of the most renowned estates in prestigious Chassagne-Montrachet. Ramonet's white wines are legendary, but most Burgundy insiders rate the appellation's reds (including Ramonet's) as being the real stars and truest expressions of the terroir.
Using a mixture of traditional vinicultural techniques, the wines exhibit elegance and fruit purity. An accessible entry-point into one of the master winemakers of Burgundy!
