Lagravera is located near Alfarras in Catalunya (2 hours west of Barcelona) in the D.O. Costers del Segre. The project was born in 2006 as a way to recover an old gravel pit (thus the name “la gravera= the gravel pit), regenerate its soil and recover the traditions of viticulture and winemaking in the area.
The winery is located between the Pyrenees and the Ebro Valley, in a part of the Anticline/Serra Llarga - the longest gypsum mountain chain in Europe. The link between the different terroirs is gypsum, which brings freshness to all of Lagravera’s wines.
Farming organically since 2013, the vineyards have been converted to biodynamics (Demeter certified). Lagravera elaborates fine, ethereal wines using indigenous varieties of Red and White Grenache, Monastrell and many others.
