Young vines, planted in 2017 in Rocche Massalupo, fermented for one week in stainless steel with 20% whole clusters.

A relatively new producer in Barbaresco, Manuel began his winery in the early 2000s. Located in the small village of San Rocco Seno d'Elivio, just outside Alba, he works his 4ha organically. The soils in this area are quite diverse, featuring blue/grey marl, sand, clay, calcaire, and tuffeau.

He works exclusively with red grapes. His vineyard is uniquely situated to take advantage of the Elva Stream, bringing a cool breeze from the north which allows for a longer hang time for the grapes. Marinacci prefers a later harvest and often aligns his pick dates with Barolo.

Wine making is firmly traditional with an extended month long maceration. Fermentation takes place in concrete (inside the winery, for cooler vintages) or fibreglass (outside, in warmer years) and the wines are aged in old, Slavonian oak barrels. In his early days Marinacci used selected yeast to guarantee the results in his wines but as his experience grows so does his trust in his plots and as of 2011 all yeast is spontaneous, for a natural fermentation.
