Paul Meunier - Quartier Libre, Centernach, Roussillon, France (2019)
Fabulous and affordable! An incredibly stony, miners-driven wine with notes of petrichor, macerated cherries, savoury, black olives and lavender scrub. This is a powerful wine with grip, texture, tannins - but at the same time fresh and brightened up with high acidity. The wine is vinified in concrete eggs from a blend of grenache, carignan, lladoner pelut & syrah grown on granitic sands & black schists.
The winery, in Centernach is the former cooperative of the village now run by former Burgundian, Paul Meunier.
