Concentrated red fruit notes, liquorice, wild herbs, toasted and spicy notes. An intense wine but with elegance, dense, chewy tannins and a long finish.

100% Tinta del País (Tempranillo) from the Cigales DO in the Castilla y León region of Spain. Grapes are macerated for 14 days, malolactic fermentation, aged 6 months in French oak barrels and 12 months minimum in bottle. The grapes come from the single vineyard of Tres Cuestas (“three slopes”) in Mucientes, a 40-year-old clay soils vineyard located at an altitude of 780m above sea level.
Cigales is a little known DO just to the west of Ribera del Duero in the Castilla y Leon region of Spain. At 750m above sea level and from very old vine Tinta del Paìs (Tempranillo).
Traslanzas wines are made by two women, Ana Martín and Maria Pinacho using grapes from Maria’s family vineyards in Mucientes, close to the region’s capital city Valladolid.
